As one year ends and another begins, we are looking at some more structured postcard exchange opportunities and want to invite you to participate.

A few of us have heard about Dear Data, a fascinating project and book in which the two authors exchanged postcards that summarized data about various aspects of their daily lives.

This idea was intriguing, and so we decided to try it CLMOOC-style. Here is a place where we’ve been brainstorming topics and where you can sign up to participate. (Make sure you’ve signed up for our other postcard list first.)

The first topic will be resolutions, New Years or otherwise. As always with CLMOOC, you can take any approach to this topic you like. What has been your history with resolutions? Are you making any this year? How “successful” were you with last year’s resolution? Are you making resolutions this year? Your postcard can take a visual data approach (like Dear Data) or not, your choice. You can make one postcard or more than one and send to someone who’s on the document list to participate or someone else. Or you can take a completely different approach to this topic — flex your creativity!

We will be engaging in this from January 1 – 15 (more or less — again, no hard and fast boundaries).
